The Voices We Listen To - Introduction

The world is a rich tapestry of diverse people, belief systems, and ways of living. When one is rooted in knowledge and guided by a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and willingly submits to God’s perfect will, they become impervious to the negative influences of the world. Conversely, surrounding oneself with ungodly individuals or false belief systems can lead to spiritual decay, not only for oneself but also for those around them, ultimately undermining one’s genuine ministry. This book aims to confront the pressing issue of heeding the wrong ‘voice’ and to direct believers toward the Father through Jesus Christ, the Word, and the empowering guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I have intentionally chosen the term ‘voice’ over ‘tongue’ or ‘language’ because it encompasses more than mere communication; it captures the essence of what I seek to convey to you, my audience. Each of us has access to a multitude of sources for information, comfort, pleasure, and guidance. However, not all sources are trustworthy, nor do they always prioritize our best interests. It is crucial to assess each source based on its foundation, purpose, and role in our lives. My deepest hope is that this work equips you with the tools, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom needed to lead a fruitful, Spirit-filled life for Jesus in these challenging times. May you be abundantly blessed in His precious name!
